Busy Day - PerformInk Article

Here's an article about 365 from PerformInk...

The (Almost) Complete Guide to 365 Sketches

(I say almost, because I heard from a director or two earlier this week that they may have a cast change, but haven't heard back.)

On January 19, 2009, Joe Janes decided to write a comedy sketch a day for a year. He did that. On June 3, 2010, Don Hall of the WNEP Theater Foundation will produce them. All of them. Don and Joe have gathered together over 200 Chicago actors and directors and over ten days presented 26 shows each featuring two weeks worth of sketches. Yep. Crazy.

I Believe...

...that turning 49 is no big deal and a birthday that falls in the middle of a work week allows one to make it a week long celebration. And I'm not afraid of turning 50 next year. I hear 50 is the new 49.

...that art with something to say about the world is just plain better than theater that pretends to.

...that "polygamous" means "of, pertaining to, characterized by, or practicing polygamy; polygamic" and "hypergamous" means "the practice among Hindu women of marrying into a caste at least as high as their own." "Caste" is "any of the social divisions into which Hindu society is traditionally divided, each caste having its own privileges and limitations, transferred by inheritance from one generation to the next." More proof that getting into a game of Scrabble with Don Hall is like getting whacked in the balls with a dictionary.
